Creating Professionally Looking Flyers
© morbutoBeing a photographer and Adobe Photoshop expert, a lot of friends ask me to help them create professionally looking
cheap flyers for their businesses. Whenever I have some extra time to spend I gladly aid them in implementing their ideas to create professionally designed flyers. The work hours I put into these projects may seem to go unpaid, but I hardly see it that way. That's what friends are for, right? Of course various printing companies will also have a nice
flyer template which might be suitable for my friends' ideas, but usually they prefer my help so that they can distribute uniquely designed flyers that nobody else uses.
The process of creating new flyer designs follows these steps: First of all I ask my "customer" about his idea. What exactly is he attempting to sell? Who is the target audience? Does he already have certain texts or pictures which need to be integrated? The next step is finding an adequate slogan and a fitting picture to attract the target audience's attention. Oftentimes I end up taking a picture with my own camera (photography is my passion) and with my brand-new digital camera I can translate almost any idea into a perfectly suited image. Usually I request the help of a good friend of mine who happens to be a writer when I work on the words or sentences to add to the flyer. Last but not least I arrange the pictures and text through Photoshop and save the result as a PDF file. Finally, all my friend needs to do is send this PDF-file to a cheap online print company and voila! This entire process only takes me around 2-3 hours and certainly makes my friends appreciate me more!
What about you? Do you also create flyers on your own? If so, please leave your comment and let us know how you do it!

How Much Life Insurance Do You Need?
© skatoolakiYour need for life insurance changes throughout your life, but your greatest need for it is when you have a mortgage and your children are still rather young. The goal of having life insurance is to provide for the needs of those who depend on your income, and to enable them to continue living at a comparable lifestyle if you should die.
When you calculate life insurance needs, you will also want to include enough coverage in the life insurance policy to be able to pay of any debts that you still have. This should include the mortgage, car payments, and any other debts that you presently have, as well as some you may reasonably expect in the near future.
Paying for college for your children is another possibility. College costs are outrageous these days and are apt to only get worse. Life insurance can help them get through a higher education and help prepare them for a good future.
Funeral costs and possible medical bills are another serious consideration. Currently, a funeral costs an average of $6,500, and life insurance can help that final cost to be met.
Other things that need to be considered are:
* How many years do you want to provide for your spouse and children?
* Do you want to include some inheritance money?
* How much is needed for property taxes and for how many years do you want to pay it?
To help you know what you will need, you can easily find a life insurance calculator online.
Darrel Richter, in an article at
LifeInsurance.Net, says that you should discuss future plans to help you decide how much may be needed. Your spouse may want to remarry, or may want to work. If so, this could greatly reduce the need for higher life insurance amounts.

The Why Question
© kyzBehind every entrepreneur there is a drive of some sort, a vision of how things should be that has inspired them to strike out on their own and launch their small business. Getting from point A to point B is rarely an overnight venture, however, and long years of toil, setbacks, and alterations can fog up even the clearest vision by the time the entrepreneur is in a position to realize it.
In many cases, this represents a failure of both planning and vision. Many entrepreneurs don't necessarily connect their business vision with their life vision, and even the most careful and competent planner usually spends most of the time planning business plans, not life plans. But why would you imagine that only business success requires planning? The rest of your life could use some careful attention in that direction as well, and usually much sooner than you might think.
This is the topic that Melinda Emerson addresses in her post
"Life Plan Before Business Plan" the first of three on the subject. Read it, and start thinking about how your life strategy has to be reflected in your business strategy if you want to succeed with both.

Floors and the wired home
Something people don't consider enough when spending a lot of money on audiovisual systems for their houses is the acoustics of their rooms. They just plonk thousands of pounds worth of equipment in the corner and think that the sound is as good as it gets; but they are wrong. Cheap, rough old floors can seriously distort the sound as it reflects off them, causing quality to be noticably impared.
Flooring restoration or downright replacement can solve a lot of these problems as it will prevent the floor resonating in responce to the bass frequencies outputted by a sub, or the like. Of course, positioning takes a bigger priority, but that's a much more complex and involved task which I will deal with another day on this blog.

A Laidback Top for Spring
I'm a sucker for pink. I really do love it. It's one of my best colors, but it also reminds me of purity, innocence, softness, beauty and all good things. When pale pink is in, I'm happy.
Unfortunately, fashion designers can't make pink clothes year after year. I love orange too, but the fact that it turns my skin a vaguely greenish color when worn is a strong deterrent. And orange has been in.... for a long time. This has meant that one by one I've worn out my pink things and have had to give them up to the Salvation Army or the garbage can.
So I was happy to find a pretty linen "
Laidback Top" on the
Boden website. It's machine washable (always a must for linen, from my perspective) and it's purported to be fitted - not just a huge drape - by other purchasers who have reviewed the shirt.
It's time to stock up for spring, and this is a great way to start!
Photo above is from

Developing a Strong Brand
© Vincent Teeuwen
Developing a strong brand is really about your
business intelligence as much as anything else. That's true whether you're looking at a
personal brand or at branding a product you're producing and promoting.
How business-savvy are you? In order to succeed at branding a product you have to make good use of marketing collateral. In personal branding that can be as simple as having a business card and a webpage. When you move to a product of some type, marketing collateral means sales brochures and printed product information, posters and signs, materials for making a good product presentation, and even product white papers you can hand out in a meeting.
Bottom line: strong branding takes good market collateral. And putting that together requires a commitment to work.

Give Your Sales Staff More Time for Lead Nurturing
© jilbean3
Your sales force is the driving force for your business. It doesn't really matter how good your product or your service is if no one sells it. Your services will be unused. Your product will collect dust in a
warehouse.
Every sales organization wants more leads. Leads generate sales. Sales make money. Money is good.
You can sit around generating leads the old fashioned way. Or you can move into the 21st Century with
marketing automation software. It's affordable and relatively common today.
Marketing automation software makes life simpler by computerizing the tedious and repetitive tasks involved in generating leads. That means you can spend more of your time in
lead management and (more importantly) in
lead nurturing. In other words, you can focus more of your energy on prospective clients and customers. That's the most productive part of your job, and you end up closing more sales and making more money.
And like we've already said, money is good....

Move Your Business in High Gear
© jasleen_kaur
Do you ever wish there was a computer program that could generate demand for your products or services? Well there is. It's called
demand generation software, and it's fairly common and relatively affordable.
Demand generation software makes life simpler by computerizing the tasks involved in generating leads. We all know how time consuming and mind numbing some of those tasks are. Having a software package that does them for you can free up a lot of your time and let you use it more productively - perhaps in
lead management.
Wouldn't you love to be able to spend the majority of your time in
lead nurturing, focused on prospective clients and customers. That would mean your energy and your time got spent on the most productive part of your job!
Leads generate
sales, right? More sales mean extra money, right? You'll need that extra money - for things like new golf clubs and a trip to the beach....
